Corporate Design for a startup with heritage
VARA Design is a think-tank organization based in Oman, specializing in interior design, architecture and branding. They invited me to develop a comprehensive corporate design — including the logo, stationery and website concept. The outcome honors the cultural heritage of the region while guiding the brand into the modern world.
Story & Role
For this project, I was responsible for Art Direction and Conception, leading the development of a brand identity that balances tradition with forward-looking design. The challenge was to create a visual system rooted in meaning — not just aesthetics — and to ensure it could be consistently applied across all brand touchpoints.
Concept & Impact
The name “Vara” holds dual significance: in several Indian languages it means “Straight Line,” and in Sanskrit it means “Boon.” This linguistic richness became a guiding principle for the logo: a simple yet memorable ambigram that remains legible when rotated 180 degrees. This subtle graphic trick enhances recall and reinforces the brand’s thoughtful approach.
Beyond the logo, the visual system was extended into a coherent website concept and stationery suite, designed to communicate VARA Design’s values with clarity and elegance — from business cards to printed materials and digital presence.
