Designing Trust in Artificial Intelligence
I developed the corporate design for botBrains with one central question in mind:
How human should artificial intelligence feel to be accepted — and where does it start to feel artificial?
botBrains is an AI-driven platform designed to support human customer service, not replace it. The branding needed to reflect exactly that balance.
The Challenge
Finding the right balance between personality and personification.
I explored how much emotional tone an AI interface needs to feel supportive, and where anthropomorphic cues begin to undermine trust.
The goal was never to simulate humanity — but to create clarity, confidence, and credibility.
Strategic Approach
I followed a human-centered, not human-like design strategy.
-
Clear and confident language
-
Friendly but factual tone of voice
-
No fictional characters or anthropomorphic visuals
-
Transparency about capabilities and limitations
This approach keeps expectations realistic and supports long-term user trust.
Design Principles
-
Calm, reduced visual language
-
Structured layouts that emphasize clarity and orientation
-
Subtle personality through typography and color — not faces or mascots
-
A system that feels intelligent, reliable, and respectful
The design supports the AI as a tool — not a persona. Trust is the foundation of every AI interaction.
Design defines how far technology should feel human — and where it should remain clearly artificial.
